2021 start really nice way, as I have half year on my desk to review.
What to say about, is just, that I'm little bit surprised with printing company that do a job for Serbian Post, as we know, that FORUM, from Novi Sad have a bad reputation when is talking about security. Too many "proof print", "error", and imperforated material "skip the security there, and it find way to market quickly, which, caused low grading for Serbia material on market. Too bad that people just don't understand, that manipulation with collectors, cause reverse effect, where people will find it hard to complete this territory, so on, they will decide to stop this effort.
Last few years, Serbia print material in ZIN, Belgrade, which have much better security control, and if something "unusual" go to market, we know that it is because someone out of ZIN made intentionally manipulation, with some profit on personal side.
So we go:
1-2021 "China New Year":
This year, it is year of OX, and design is similar as years back, by my opinion, just nice, not more than that!
Two stamps in set, around 1.00 US$ face value.
2-2021 "Easter":
If not this FDC, which was made in good way, I will say, that this time, design miss the point. I don't know why, but I don't prefer modern design of Icons or Fresque, where I prefer old, classic one, that are available a lot in every church around Serbia.
Two stamps in set, and again in 1.00 US$ face value!
3-2021 "Seminary":
This issue have intention to celebrate 150 years of the foundation of the PRIZREN Seminary.
Important place, important role, and one "classic" architecture here, where Serbia meet own need for education and religion.
This building come under attach of Albanian extremist in 1999 and 2004 year, and all under "patronage" of west countries, where this "west" just keep eye closed for something that need to be avoided.
Single stamp with less than half US$ in face value!
4-2021 "Actors":
Again same design, which is boring in minimum expression, I don't like it at all, from beginning, too "gray" in view, not of my taste!
Between all persons here, I will mention one, Predrag Ejdus (1947-2018), which have Jewish family name, but can not be included in Judaica topic, because his mother was Serbian.
Now, if someone collect actors, than he will need this set, which is not so in low face value, actually, set of 8 values is over two US$ in face value!
5-2021 "Student Cultural Centre":
You know, not bad design at all, actually like it!
FDC little bit "naive" in design, but good for topical collection as "Architecture", "Building".
One set, less than half US$ in face value.
6-2021 "Space Flight":
Holy Spirit!
Straight to the point! This issue really surprised me, and can say, just PERFECT!
We are now in 60 years of First manned Space Flight, so, to celebrate it, Serbia issued this set with three stamps. We have it here Yurij Gagarin, German Titov and Valentina Tereshkova, all in really perfect made stamp design. I love it!
Issue come in booklet format, with three FDC and very affordable face value of 2.60 US$ per set. You will need little bit more for booklet cover, but still very affordable! keep an eye on this issue!
7-2021 "Sacral Architecture":
Standard design for this topic, showing us three Monastery in Serbia, Studenica, Grachanica and Djurdjevi Stupovi.
Issued in sheet of 8 and gutter, for which You will need little bit more to pay.
face value under one US$ per set, good buy I think!
8-2021 "Earth Day":
Not too much to talk about this issue, mini sheet with one stamp in, relatively "high" face value of 1.20 US$ per one. design is not by my taste, at all.
9-2021 "Faculty":
It is important, it have right to be on postage stamps, even one good design, so can be included also in "Bridge" topic. Issue celebrate 175 years of faculty for Civil Engineering, and also 75 years of Reconstruction of the railway bridge over Danube. This specific bridge is interesting, as it was not attacked by NATO bombing in 1999.
Two stamp in set, little bit over half US$ per set, I can say, good buy!
10-2021 "EUROPA":
Oh, this year, it is under "Endangered National Wildlife" theme, and I can say, that Serbia made it best!
Two stamps in set, Falcon and Shore Lark on it, best possible design, perfect match in dimension, giving us feeling of this birds!
Set of two, is still under one US$ face value, but it will be very hard to find it by face value, not for exchange base for sure. As I say, great design, with also "Flora" topic on it, and FDC cancel with nest and eggs.
Issued in sheet of 8 with gutter on middle, which will be too costly to buy, and probably catalog value for this sheet of 8 will reach around 35.00 euros!
11-2021 "Stamp Day":
Usually, on this period a year, we have this issue coming to market. his time, we celebrate 150 years of sending The First Serbian Post Card. I like this design, as it have also "Stamp on Stamp" topic, with fascinating DRAGON shown here, and face value is just less than half US$!
12-2021 "Art":
You know, I'm graphic design by profession, so, I will not comment this issue, too much for my nerve, too much! Set of 2, little bit over half US$ face value. Worth to have it? Really don't know, but for sure, it is NOT for investment!
13-2021 "Africa Day":
Interesting issue to celebrate establishment of African Union.
You know, I like this issue! Stamp alone is in bigger format than usually, and image on stamp is some kind of "Lego" cubes, but when You will see sheet of 8 stamps and strip of gutter between two row, than You will say, that it is really good job made!
By local standard, it is expensive issue, as stamp alone have near one US$ face value! With sheet of 8 stamps and this gutter, face value go for more than 8.00 US$, but market will ask premium!
1-2021 "Postage Due":
I call it postage due, but actually, from this three, just one come in this range. It is small format "regular" issue, one is for vaccination effort in Serbia, second for children security on internet and third is for grape domestic sort!
This is all for now, we will continue!
